Is Christmas really Christmas

I believe that the Christmas Holiday is not what the Lord had in mind for earth to remember his son.
With my little  knowledge of Christianty I can't speak with authority, but I can speak with authority
on this society - who I believe has desecrated the sancitity of The Lord Christ's Birth. In this society
people buy people gifts that they can't afford and don't need.  I thing Jesus Christ would appreiciate some
candles, frankincence, myrhrr  and a little gold, like the three wise men gave him in his cradle.
I think he would even prefer that people take the money that they would normally spend on Christmas gifts and give that money to charity.

I mean this is supposed to be Christ's birth not every one you can think of to buy a gift for. Buy a gift for them on their birthday.

And the realtailers, do you know why the day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday, because that's
when they get out of the red into the black. All year they are in debt and the Christmas shopping let's
them pay their debtors

I would like to see the Vatican make a statement that the Christmas Holidays are falsley practiced
with all this gift giving to people and it should be stopped.

As an aside...before donating your money to a charity you should make sure that no more than 25% of the donations they receive is used for the organization's administrative costs. You need to make sure that the money you donate is actually used for the purpose for which you donated it.

  1. As a Christian I sadly agree. The notion of celebrating Christmas for Jesus's sake has long since been derailed. Even if it is a custom that we as Christians cannot or will not cease, I wish we could agree to call that day something else...in celebration of giving to others, but the birth of our Savoir should in fact be not only celebratory but somber as well. A day to reflect, draw close to loved ones and meditate on the Ultimate Gift sent to us. My prayer is that Christ looks down at Christmas and will no longer have to say "Forgive them for they know not what they do."
